Acid House and smiles :-)

Memory Box is gearing up for its next party in a run of specials featuring true legends from the techno, house, Detroit and Chicago scenes. On Friday 18th May it will be the turn of Acid House creators and pioneers – Phuture – playing a special live set at new East London hangout ‘Hangar’ in London Fields on their pumping ARCS L'Acoustics sound system.

The Acid House genre has always played a huge part at Memory Box parties.  It is the core sound of what a great Memory Box party is, through its various nights exploring the history, the influences, the influencers and all electronic music that descended from the birth of acid house.

So this night is really the pinnacle of the Memory Box specials with Phuture playing live, as Phuture literally created acid house. Phuture’s original members consisted of DJ Pierre, Spanky and Herb J.  Its reborn form consists of DJ Pierre and new member Lessnoize and is very much dedicated to Spanky who sadly passed away in 2016.

To read their story head here for a little dip into the history of Phuture and the birth of acid house. https://www.memoryboxparties.co.uk/blog/19/4/2018/phutures-history-and-the-birth-of-acid-house

And join us at Hangar on Friday 18th May for a Memory Box night to remember.
